Imagine lying awake in bed, waiting to hear the front door open so you’ll know your teen is home safely. But tonight, instead of the familiar click followed by footsteps on the carpet - the doorbell rings!
My beautiful daughter, Emily, will be driving soon and that’s a very scary thought for me. So I used my skills as a professional writer and trainer to develop a multimedia program for her and other teen drivers and their parents. It’s called "3 Keys to Teen Driver Safety" and it’s awesome!
With the help of other parents, police departments, government agencies, and subject matter experts, it’s a workbook full of stories, quizzes, tips and tools to help parents coach and prepare their rookie teen drivers. It even has a companion website with links to all kinds of extra resources. Together they provide a comprehensive step-by-step program for keeping teens safe on the road.
But it won’t be available until May 2010. So in the meantime, I’ve created this blog to help parents prepare their teens to make good decisions on the road so they WILL come home safely at the end of every day.
